Every document that i scanned was distorted. I could not read anything. Syncing with my google docs didnt work either. It would shut off the app everytime I tried to sync.

So I think this app is absolutely great. Sure there are a few hiccups, especially when the iPhone OS gets updated, but the app developers are quick to put out an update. As a student, this app allows me to remain paperless & keep all those handouts I get in every class in digital form. Not only that, I can post those handouts directly to my iDisk right from the app or email it or even save it on my phone. Its definitely a must for any student trying to keep all those pesky school handouts organized for exam studying later in the term! Get it, you wont be disappointed! - The only thing lacking is that there is no iPad version of this app...please make this a universal app!
I have tried many this sort of app. This one is the best scanner than any other! It provide the best quality for your paper!
REVISED... SEE BELOW.. Not sure about the mixed reviews but I have tried about 5 OCR document apps (not injuring business card readers). This app is one of the best because the OCR is ver accurate and on top of that it keeps formatting (keep paragraphs separate), whereas some other apps would do a good OCR but them the output is a single block of text. With version 5 they finally added export of text (wasnt available before which was major issue). But now the app is fine. REVISION: after trying this in different lighting conditions I find this app performs very poorly in Edge recognition. There is no way to manually set the edges to max /whole page. It ends up doing OCR for parts of the page only. I found. Work around if you select before scanning the option for document type PARTIAL. It works fine then. Need to take Another star down on raring till this is fixed.
This app is NOT worth the money as a document scanner OCR. I bought it cause the guy who reviewed it and said that he tried a number of these OCR apps and he thought this one was the best. Before I bought it I tried the ImageToText-OCR app (free) and it works. You take the pic, it emails it to you as text and its simple cut and paste. The formatting is lost to some degree, but so what at least the words are complete. The only reason I bought DocScanner was because the ImageToText-OCR app is limited to 10 uses per hour. Try it first.
As long as a person can use their camera with any skill to take a good picture, this is a sure fire way of keeping a copy of whiteboards and documents. I have already found dozens of chances to use it, and not only does it work well, but this is one that stays on my main home screen out of my two thousand apps collected so far. Still amazes people when I take a picture of a whiteboard from a weird angel and manage to email a perfect cropped, stretched and readable shot to everyone. OCR isnt perfect, but can cut down the work of retyping the whole document. The best no money I have ever not spent! Thanks for making DocScanner free a while ago :)
Although the first few UI elements are simple and well laid out, you should be given the option to rescan and adjust the corner points before sending to Evernote. I have stopped using this app as it misinterprets corners too often and I have to go back and rescan the document and set this manually. I love the cloud storage as it is perfect with this kind of mobile solution, but it needs to be simpler to scan in basic documents.
The UI could use a refresh but I like how the paper portion of my scans always look paper-white, and the text always looks sharp and black. Granted, the general workflow and the OCR and Dropbox implementation could be [really] better, but at the end of the day what matters most is the scan quality. You can manually adjust the corners by rescanning a document, and if OCR is really important for you, do like I do: scan to "Open In...", send it to the Dropbox app (thus circumventing DocScanners poor Dropbox implementation), upload it to a folder on your Dropbox and run the OCR in Acrobat on your Mac/PC. This has worked wonders for me. One more annoying thing: auto capitalization of document titles... In many languages, French being one of them, we dont capitalize every word in a title. It would be nice if there could be a setting to turn that off.
Its shocking to me that this app only has an average 3-star rating. I use it ALL the time and it is easy to use and includes so many useful features. I dont know what I would do without this app for tracking business receipts. It is absolutely worth the money we paid for it. Thank you for creating it!
Amazing features, but this app needs a face lift. Its too cluttered and too many buttons to press for simple actions.
The app is crashing
This update Completely changes what was a before a great app. Its now ugly and honestly awkward to use. Please revert the app back to the old version. I really dont understand how the developers think this is a update its more like a downdate. To be honest Im actually quite angry that this app retains nothing of the clean nice functional app I was used to. Was this app bought out and sold to another company? I feel like Im using a first generation iPod with all those pixelated fonts. Too bad I used to use this all the time. Delete.
Please change back to the version from before. Your new upgraded app is now useless!
Crashes a bit and I still find the autocatigorization feature annoying. I would also like to see that if I set it to allow me to adjust the edges it remains that way and doesnt switch back to auto.
Well I updated and hated the new version, now they have listened and put out another update that fixes what was wrong. Nice to see them fix it quickly.
Please change it back
Unfortunately the latest updates ruined the app completely. Very difficult to use now. Deleted it and now using Genius Scan instead.
What happened? I hope they fix this soon. Something went seriously WRONG!
This app before the latest upgrade was a life saver for me! My trusted assistant on the road. Now, what happened? It crashes 3 out of 4 times when I tried to use it. I cant export my scanned documents like I used to from my own network from a browser. Now, I need a cloud-based account. Export as PDF crashed and crashed. Please bring back a solid and stable App! I am considering another App for my business needs.
Classic example of trying to do too much with a good thing. It no longer turns business cards in contacts.
